Sisters Eleonor and Eva were born in their father's home country of Sweden but have also lived
in mom's native Venezuela. Their signature designs employ richly textured, graphical fabrics,
a reflection of their Scandinavian heritage, according to Eva. Owners of linen fields in Sweden,
the women of that side of the family have long maintained a tradition of weaving their own linen
fabrics. At the same time, the explosion of deep, rich colors the sisters choose to use in their
creations are very Venezuelan. The girls grew up looking at their family weaving their own
designs and patterns.
"As you can see," says Eva, "we all seemed to have quite an interest in fabrics and design."
Eleonor Hallström
A graphic designer, Eleonor owned an award-winning Venezuelan company specializing in package
design for more than 17 years. Her contributions to the E&E Hallström Haute Couture product line
have come naturally an extension of the sewing and knitting skills she taught herself at a very
young age. She has continued doing both ever since. She is currently at work on very large embroidered pieces for gallery display.
Eva Hallström
Eva brings an interesting combination of skills to E&E Hallström Haute Couture. After a stint
working as a producer for Ogilvy and Mather in Venezuela, she moved to London to study
marketing. From London it was on to New York for a masters program in interactive communications
at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, which she followed with a few years of work on the
Web. For the past four years, she has channeled her creativity toward designing fast, effective
processes that helped publisher Random House transform printed books into state-of-the-art
ebooks.
